Nigerian rapper Ice Prince shares his journey of overcoming financial struggles, revealing how he lost his university admission due to an inability to raise N20,000. Despite adversity, he worked menial jobs and relied on faith, ultimately finding success. His story highlights resilience and determination.
Nigerian rapper Ice Prince, born Panshak Henry Zamani, recently shared a personal story about how he missed out on university admission due to his inability to raise N20,000. Speaking on a podcast, the 38-year-old artist revealed that, as an orphan and the only son in a large family, he had no family support for his education. He recalled struggling with school fees, often spending weeks at home each term because he couldn't pay. His admission was ultimately forfeited due to the N20,000 he couldn't raise in time.
Despite this setback, Ice Prince did not turn to a life of crime, though he came from a tough environment in Jos, which was known for its unrest. Instead, he worked odd jobs, including as a pool table attendant and making leather slippers, to survive. Reflecting on his journey, he emphasized the role of faith and perseverance in his success, attributing much of it to God's intervention. Ice Prince also acknowledged that while he wasn't academically inclined, his resilience and determination pushed him forward. He encouraged others to look at his story and realize that if he could overcome such obstacles, no one should have an excuse to fail.
