An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion has injured a soldier and a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel during a joint operation in Orsu Local Government Area, Imo State. The incident occurred at about 8:35 am on March 18 as troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade operated around a suspected hideout of IPOB and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN). The personnel stepped on a concealed pressure-activated IED. Both victims received first aid and were evacuated to a medical facility. Operations continue in the area.
