Police in Ogun State have apprehended eight secondary school students in Ifo for allegedly engaging in cult activities. Their arrest followed a report by school authorities about a gang causing disturbances and extorting fellow students. Preliminary investigations identified them as members of the Future Guys (F.T.G.) cult group, allegedly recruited by two senior students.

The suspects include Omolaso Waris (16), Bennett Bolawatife (15), Aluko Taiwo (15), Akinola Ifeoluwa (16), Azeez Hassan (16), Kilani Babatunde (16), Kehinde Aluko (15), and Fasedemi Samuel (16). The police have launched a thorough investigation and will transfer the students to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiries.

Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed that the students appear before him for further questioning and possible rehabilitation programs. He reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating cultism in schools and urged parents, teachers, and community leaders to work together to curb the menace.
