Deputy Commissioner of Police Gbolahan Olugbemi was discovered deceased in his Ogbomoso apartment in Oyo state. Olugbemi had traveled from Lagos to Ogbomoso for the Easter holidays, but his body was found hanging from the roof of his living room on Monday.
Before his untimely demise, Olugbemi held the position of overseeing the criminal investigation department (CID) at Panti, Lagos. Mayegun Oluwakemi, the spokesperson for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) annex in Lagos, confirmed the tragic incident but stated no information was available regarding the cause of death. The police authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
Olugbemi had served in various roles within the force, including as the area commander of the 'Area J' command in the Lekki-Ajah area of Lagos state and as the aide-de-camp to the late Adebayo Alao-Akala, former governor of Oyo state.
