JAMB has postponed the 2025 UTME registration from January 31 to February 3, 2025. This delay aims to implement updates to the registration process, addressing issues such as the suspension of law programs and fraudulent CBT centers. The Mock UTME will occur on April 5, 2025, and the main exam from April 25 to May 5, 2025.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced the postponement of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration, shifting the start date from January 31 to February 3, 2025. According to JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the delay is necessary for important updates to the registration templates. These updates come in response to the recent suspension of some law programs at specific universities, as directed by the Council for Legal Education. Additionally, JAMB discovered that certain Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers had used deceptive tactics to gain approval for the exam, prompting further scrutiny and necessary disapprovals.
In light of these changes, JAMB has issued a warning to CBT centers to avoid fraudulent practices or face sanctions. The board apologized for any inconvenience the postponement may cause to candidates and other stakeholders, assuring that the additional time will ensure a smoother registration process.
The Mock UTME is now set for April 5, 2025, while the main exam will occur between April 25 and May 5, 2025. This adjustment is expected to allow the board to ensure all logistical and regulatory aspects are for the upcoming exams.
