JAMB sets 140 as the cut-off mark for university admissions and 100 for polytechnics and colleges for 2024. This decision follows deliberations at the 2024 Policy Meeting on Admissions in Abuja, led by Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, amid varying stakeholder reactions.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set the minimum score for 2024 university admissions at 140, with 100 being the threshold for polytechnics and colleges of education. This decision was announced by JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede following discussions at the 2024 Policy Meeting on Admissions in Abuja.

The meeting, which convened stakeholders including educational authorities and institutions, witnessed varied responses to the new cut-off marks. While Oloyede clarified that these scores were minimum benchmarks, institutions retained the autonomy to set their admission criteria.

The registrar emphasized the importance of adhering to established guidelines, although flexibility remained in how institutions implemented these standards. This move aims to streamline the admission process while ensuring fairness and compliance with educational policies.
