Olajide Adediran, known as Jandor, has officially rejoined the APC after contesting the 2023 Lagos governorship election under the PDP. He cited APC as the best platform for governance. His return follows consultations with supporters and a recent meeting with President Tinubu, reshaping Lagos' political landscape ahead of 2027.
Olajide Adediran, widely known as Jandor, has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant shift in Lagos' political landscape. The former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate announced at a press briefing held at his campaign office in Ikeja on Monday.
Jandor’s return to APC comes after months of speculation and internal discussions. He explained that his decision was driven by the belief that the APC remains the most viable platform to bring effective governance to Lagos State and Nigeria at large. According to him, extensive consultations with his political allies and supporters across Lagos played a crucial role in his move back to the ruling party.
His defection follows a recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, fueling further discussions about his political future. The meeting, which took place behind closed doors, is believed to have influenced his decision to realign with the APC, the party he originally belonged to before contesting under PDP in 2023.
Jandor's return is expected to reshape political dynamics in Lagos, especially as the 2027 elections approach. With this move, speculations are rife about his next political ambition and how his reentry into the APC might impact opposition strategies in the state.
