Emergency responders, including police, local divers, and volunteers, rushed to the scene, but five passengers were confirmed dead. The victims were identified as Abdurra’uf Mohd, 15; Suleman Ali, 20; Shafiu Mohd, 25; Ado Nafance, 75; and Alasan Mohd, 16, all from Taura LGA. Rescue efforts continue for the remaining passengers.
Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, Amad Abdullahi, expressed condolences to the victims’ families, offering prayers for their peace and urging ongoing support for the rescue operation.
