According to Mikel, the deal was almost complete, with both parties reaching a compromise, but last-minute paperwork issues and time constraints halted the transfer.
Mikel revealed the club and Osimhen had made significant efforts to finalize the move, and Chelsea’s interest remains strong. Osimhen, who had previously rejected an offer from Al-Ahli despite Napoli accepting a €80 million bid, was keen to join Chelsea. Mikel remains hopeful that the deal could be revisited in the future.
