The family of Adetunji “Teejay” Opayele, Co-founder of Bumpa, is demanding justice following his tragic death in a hit-and-run incident involving Biola Adams-Odutayo, a well-connected Lagos socialite.

On March 4, 2025, Teejay was biking home from the gym in Victoria Island when Biola, allegedly driving against traffic, crashed into him. Eyewitnesses claim she refused to step out of her car to assist, reportedly saying she didn't want "blood stains" on her vehicle. Instead, she remained on her phone while bystanders struggled to get medical help.

Teejay was taken to multiple hospitals, all of which allegedly refused to admit him. Eventually, he was transported in a commercial bus with Biola inside to ensure acceptance at a hospital. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, he was pronounced dead.

Despite public outrage, Biola was charged only with a traffic offense, granted bail for ₦1 million, and released. Reports suggest she has since left the country. Teejay’s family is calling on authorities to upgrade the charge to manslaughter, urging the Lagos State Ministry of Justice and the police to prevent a cover-up.

Nigerians have taken to social media, using #JusticeForTeejay, to demand accountability. Anyone with information is urged to contact @justiceforteejay across social media platforms.
