The Kano High Court sitting in Miller Road has delivered justice in a highly publicized case, sentencing Chinese national Frank Geng-Quangrong to death by hanging for the murder of his girlfriend in Kano in 2022.
Presiding Judge Justice Sanusi Ado-Ma’aji pronounced the verdict on Tuesday, declaring the accused guilty of the offense. The ruling culminated in the conviction and subsequent sentencing of Geng-Quangrong to death by hanging until his last breath.
The case dates back to September 2022 when Geng-Quangrong was apprehended and detained by the police for culpable homicide. The victim, identified as Ummukulsum Buhari, a 22-year-old resident of Janbulo quarters, Kumbotso LGA of Kano, tragically lost her life in the incident.
Prosecutors argued that Geng-Quangrong's actions violated the provisions of Section 221(b) of the Penal Code Law, leading to his arrest and subsequent trial.
