The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has taken action by sealing off several prominent businesses due to unpaid taxes totaling over N100 billion. Among the establishments affected are Unity Bank, Chicken Republic, Bank of Agriculture (BOA), and First City Monument Bank (FCMB), all situated along Yakubu Gowon Way. Additionally, the Hamdala Hotel has also been shut down as part of this enforcement.

The operation was led by Barrister Aisha Ahmad, the Board Secretary and Executive Director of Legal Services for KADIRS. She explained that the agency took this step after exhausting all possible legal avenues to resolve the outstanding tax issues, particularly related to the Land Use Tax.
