The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) recently detained the Headmaster of Gaidar Makada Special Primary School in Kumbotso Local Government Area, Kano State. This arrest follows allegations that the headmaster was involved in the illegal sale of school property.

According to a statement released by the commission’s spokesperson, Kabir Abba Kabir, the investigation revealed that crucial school assets, including metal fixtures, benches, and furniture, had gone missing under suspicious circumstances. The school’s School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairmen had previously raised concerns about the headmaster’s questionable conduct.

The disappearance of these vital resources was officially reported on August 31, 2024, leading the PCACC to take swift action against the suspect. The commission is actively working to recover the stolen items and ensure that the integrity of the educational system in Kano State remains uncompromised. Kabir emphasized that the PCACC is committed to rooting out corruption in the education sector and will continue to pursue justice in this case.

Photographs of the missing school property have been documented, reinforcing the evidence against the headmaster. The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced in safeguarding public resources and the importance of vigilance in the fight against corruption within educational institutions.
