Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, expressed profound happiness in reaction to the recent Supreme Court verdict that affirmed his position as governor.
Speaking at the apex court in Abuja, Governor Yusuf shared his elation, emphasizing the Supreme Court's declaration that found no illegality in the Kano State governorship election. The governor addressed reporters, stating, "I feel extremely happy, as you can see, so many people are happy and cheering."
The Supreme Court's ruling restored votes canceled by the Court of Appeal and the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, disputing the basis for cancellation. Justice John Okoro, leading the judgment, criticized the lower courts' decisions and affirmed the legitimacy of Yusuf's victory.
The governor, feeling justified by the apex court's decision, thanked the people of Kano State and supporters worldwide for their steadfastness during the controversy surrounding the election.
