Street beggars in Kano are pleading for an end to nationwide protests, citing extreme hardship due to disrupted daily earnings. They appeal to protest organizers to negotiate with the government, as many families have been left without food, struggling to survive under the imposed curfews.

Street beggars in Kano have urged the organizers of the ongoing nationwide protests to consider ending the demonstrations due to the severe impact on their livelihood. Baba Haliru, a 70-year-old beggar from Rigiyar Zaki, expressed the difficulty of surviving amidst the unrest. He explained that many beggars depend on daily alms to feed their families, but the protests and accompanying curfews have disrupted their ability to earn a living.

Haliru lamented that his household of 14 has gone days with little more than water to sustain them. Other beggars echoed his plea, highlighting the dire situation caused by the protests. Malama Mario Kabiru from Hotoro quarters revealed that they have run out of food, and the curfew prevents them from purchasing more, leaving them in a desperate situation.

Malam Isa Musa from Dorayi quarters called on the government to provide support for elderly individuals who lack any means of assistance. He emphasized the unbearable conditions, urging both the protesters and the government to negotiate a resolution and lift the curfew. The beggars appealed for the protests to end so that they could return to their daily routines and secure the means to survive.
