Kelechi Iheanacho has joined Middlesbrough on loan from Sevilla until the end of the season. The Nigerian striker, formerly of Manchester City and Leicester City, seeks regular game time after a difficult spell in Spain. He aims to boost Middlesbrough’s promotion hopes with his experience and goal-scoring ability.
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a loan move to English Championship club Middlesbrough from La Liga side Sevilla. The Nigerian striker, who previously played for Manchester City and Leicester City, will remain at Middlesbrough until the end of the season.
Iheanacho was officially unveiled at the Riverside Stadium ahead of Middlesbrough’s crucial match against Sunderland. The 28-year-old joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer but has struggled for regular game time, making just 11 appearances, mostly as a substitute.
With over 300 career appearances and 85 goals to his name, Iheanacho hopes to rediscover his best form in England. At the international level, he has netted 15 goals in 57 matches for Nigeria.
Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick expressed excitement over the signing, stating that Iheanacho’s experience and goal-scoring ability would be valuable as the club pushes for promotion to the Premier League.
The move marks a fresh start for the Nigerian striker, who aims to reignite his career after a challenging spell in Spain. Fans are eager to see if he can make an immediate impact in the Championship.
