Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has disclosed that Emirates Airline is on the brink of announcing the resumption date for its flights to Nigeria.
Keyamo shared this update on his official X page on Sunday, revealing that discussions with Emirates Airline representatives took place on the sidelines of the recent Dubai Airshow.
During these talks, Keyamo highlighted the collaborative efforts with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing optimism about the imminent resumption of Dubai to Nigeria flights.
The federal government, working on final details, is expected to provide further clarity soon. Keyamo also noted his visit to pavilions of global aviation and aerospace industries at the airshow, emphasizing a valuable cue for organizing Nigeria's Airshow in 2024, in collaboration with the private sector.
Emirates Airline suspended operations to Nigeria in October 2022 due to challenges repatriating funds, marking a crucial step towards reinstating vital air links between the two nations.
