GIGM’s bus traveling from Lagos to Abuja was attacked by kidnappers in Kogi, who demanded N100 million ransom for each passenger. Only the driver was spared. This incident follows a similar attack last month, sparking public outcry and highlighting concerns over safety and the response from authorities.

GIGM, a popular transportation company, is once again in the spotlight after one of its buses traveling from Lagos to Abuja was attacked by kidnappers in Kogi State. The bus, which was heading past the Dangote Plant at Obajana towards Lokoja, was intercepted by the criminals who abducted all passengers onboard, demanding a staggering N100 million ransom for each victim. The driver was the only one spared during the attack.

The incident has left the families of the victims distraught, with many calling for urgent public and governmental intervention. This attack is eerily similar to a previous incident in which a GIGM bus traveling from Abuja to Port Harcourt was also hijacked by kidnappers last month. In that case, all passengers were taken, except the driver, but authorities stepped in and successfully secured the release of the hostages.

The recurring nature of these attacks has sparked outrage on social media, with some users criticizing GIGM for its apparent silence and lack of action following the incidents. Many have called for better safety measures for passengers, while others are pointing fingers at law enforcement agencies, questioning their response to the ongoing crisis.
