Kogi Central constituents have firmly opposed any efforts to recall Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following her controversial six-month suspension from the Senate. The group, operating under the banner of the Concerned Constituents of Kogi Central Senatorial District, has condemned her suspension as unjust and politically motivated, demanding its immediate reversal.
According to Hon. AbdulRahaman Badamasiuy, the group’s coordinator, Senator Natasha has provided exceptional representation for the district. They believe any move to remove her is an attempt to undermine the people’s democratic rights. In a letter signed by 70 concerned constituents, they emphasized that she was duly elected and retains their full support.
The statement stressed that the people of Kogi Central will not tolerate any unconstitutional attempts to strip them of their voice in the Senate. They warned against external influences attempting to orchestrate her recall, urging the Senate to respect their electoral choice.
The constituents further called on the Senate leadership to restore Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s position without delay, asserting that her absence deprives them of proper representation. They also cautioned against any fraudulent maneuvers to replace her, reaffirming that she remains their legitimate representative until her term ends in 2027.
