Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress's (APC) victory in the upcoming November governorship election. He attributed this anticipated triumph to the "unprecedented achievements of the party" under his leadership. Bello reiterated his administration's commitment to collaborating with security agencies to ensure a peaceful election and a level playing field for all candidates.
The governor conveyed this during a visit by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, to discuss strategies for a peaceful election. Represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, Bello pledged to work in line with President Bola Tinubu's directives to achieve a violence-free election. He emphasized that his administration had prioritized security since he assumed office.
Bello stated, "Our outstanding achievements, which are visible, will speak and work for us, with the greatest of assurances that we will win overwhelmingly." He assured that the state government would cooperate with the Armed Forces to ensure peace and provide a fair electoral environment.
He commended Tinubu and the Chief of Defence Staff for their efforts in reducing crime in the North West and South East regions. Gen. Musa assured that the Armed Forces were fully committed to ensuring a peaceful, violence-free, and credible election in Kogi State, highlighting the importance of the state to the nation. He encouraged eligible voters to participate and exercise their democratic rights in the election.
