Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has criticized the Federal Government for the recent arraignment of 67 minors accused of participating in the #EndBadGovernance protests. These minors, aged between 13 and 17, were reportedly arrested in Kano for allegedly displaying the Russian flag during the protests held from July 31 to August 11.

Kwankwaso expressed his outrage through social media, arguing that the government should focus on combating significant security threats like banditry and Boko Haram rather than prosecuting children. He condemned the harsh bail conditions set for the minors, which include a N10 million bail and a requirement for a grade 15 civil servant to secure their release.

In his statement, Kwankwaso highlighted the dire circumstances of the minors, who he described as malnourished and in need of medical attention, asserting that their treatment contradicts the principles of human rights and the Child's Rights Act of 2003. He called for a reevaluation of the charges against the minors, urging authorities to prioritize their welfare and allow them to return to their families.
