A fire outbreak has affected a section of the Lagos State Blue Line rail track near the NEPA Station by Eko Bridge, heading toward Apogbon. The incident, which occurred around 4:12 pm on Saturday, was confirmed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and train services were not in operation at the time. Akosile shared updates on social media, assuring Lagos residents that the situation was quickly brought under control by emergency responders and safety personnel who extinguished the fire.

The authorities have stated that the area is now safe for residents and commuters, and normal activities have resumed in the vicinity. The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) will provide further information regarding the Blue Line’s operation status following the incident.
