In a devastating incident in the Ebute Meta area of Lagos State, at least three individuals, including a baby and one adult, remain trapped after a one-storey building with a penthouse collapsed on Friday. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service received a distress call at 9 am about the building collapse on Herbert Macaulay Way, Ebute Meta.
As the fire service team arrived, they successfully rescued one person from the debris, an adult female in stable condition. However, three individuals, including a baby, are still under the wreckage, prompting ongoing search and rescue efforts.
Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the situation, stating, "Efforts are ongoing to rescue the trapped victim." The State Emergency Response has been fully activated to manage the emergency.
