According to Hundeyin, the couple, aged 28 and 22, were taken into custody on Tuesday after they tried to sell their child. The Isolo Divisional Police Officer received information around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday that the couple had visited Isolo General Hospital and expressed their intention to sell their baby boy.
Acting on this tip, police officers swiftly moved to the hospital and intervened just as the couple was about to complete the transaction. The two-year-old boy was rescued, and the couple was taken into custody for further questioning.
During interrogation, the couple admitted they had planned to sell their child to finance the man's travel to Canada in search of better opportunities. SP Hundeyin stated that the investigation is ongoing, and further details will be provided as they become available.
