The Lagos State Task Force has dismissed two officers, Fatai Yusuf, and Hammed Garuba, for stealing mobile phones during a raid targeting drug traffickers in Gowon Estate. The task force’s spokesperson, Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, confirmed their misconduct was captured on CCTV.

Following an internal investigation, the disciplinary committee found the officers guilty, leading to their immediate dismissal and impending prosecution. Task force chairman CSP Adetayo Akerele condemned their actions, emphasizing the agency's commitment to integrity and ethical conduct.

The raid, conducted in a hotel known for harboring drug users and traffickers, resulted in multiple arrests. In recent operations, the task force apprehended 96 individuals, including 53 drug users and peddlers, who were remanded at Badagry Correctional Centre after court proceedings.

The task force also demolished shanties and identified hideouts within Gowon Estate to deter future criminal activities. These actions align with the Lagos State THEMES Plus agenda, showcasing the agency's dedication to eradicating drug-related crimes and upholding public safety.

Gbadeyan reiterated that any breach of ethical standards by agency personnel would result in severe consequences. The agency's efforts aim to restore public trust and reinforce its commitment to justice and discipline.
