Paul Onwuanibe, the MD/CEO of Landmark Africa Group, has revealed the devastating impact of the sudden demolition of Landmark Leisure Beach, a popular recreational destination. Speaking on The KK Show, Onwuanibe disclosed that the demolition led to a financial loss exceeding $30 million, affecting over 1,000 employees and 50 small and medium enterprises.
The demolition, carried out with just seven days' notice, sent shockwaves through his business empire. Onwuanibe shared the emotional toll of the incident, recounting the outreach from three African presidents during the crisis. "I had calls from three different African Presidents during this crisis," he said, emphasizing the magnitude of the event.
