Paul Onwuanibe, CEO of the Landmark Group, is in discussions with federal and Lagos State authorities to prevent the planned demolition of the Landmark Beach Resort. The resort faces demolition to make way for the 700km Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project.

Onwuanibe's management is exploring options to avoid the demolition, including rerouting a portion of the highway to its original location along the undeveloped Water Corporation Road median. He emphasizes the importance of collaboration to sustain the existing socioeconomic activities while developing the coastal road.

In a statement, Onwuanibe highlights the significant contributions of the Landmark Group ecosystem to the Nigerian economy, including billions of Naira in taxes annually and employment opportunities for thousands of Nigerians. He expresses confidence in finding a solution that preserves the resort while supporting the government's infrastructure project.

The Landmark Group, which began operations in Nigeria in 2003, has invested over US$100 million in the economy. Onwuanibe acknowledges government support and expresses optimism about achieving a mutually beneficial outcome.
