Zainab Bayero, daughter of the late Emir of Kano, appeals for help, citing homelessness and struggles in Lagos. In a viral video, she describes her plight, lack of support, and overwhelming responsibilities. Despite previous assistance from the Kano State Government, Zainab remains stranded, seeking aid to rebuild her life.
Zainab Bayero, the daughter of the late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, has appealed for support, citing homelessness and hardship in Lagos. In a heartfelt video circulating on social media, she revealed the struggles she faced alongside her mother and younger brother since her father’s passing.
Zainab expressed distress over their inability to secure shelter or basic needs, stating that the burden of supporting her family has become overwhelming. She described being stranded near Eko Hotel in Lagos late at night with no place to go, adding that she feels abandoned and unsafe.
She revealed that previous assistance provided by the Kano State Government, including rent for an apartment, had been exhausted, forcing her to seek further support. Zainab denied allegations that she misused funds previously given to her, emphasizing her efforts to survive and care for her family despite limited resources.
In her plea, Zainab mentioned reaching out to influential figures, including government officials and traditional leaders but noted that no meaningful help had been extended. She expressed frustration at being ignored, adding that her situation has left her with no hope for the future. This is not the first time Zainab has spoken publicly about her challenges, as she had sought financial assistance earlier in the year.
