Despite Benin taking the lead through Mohamed Tijani in the first half, Nigeria’s star forward Victor Osimhen leveled the game late, ensuring the Eagles walked away with a draw. Boniface came on as a substitute in the second half, contributing to the team’s performance.
Leverkusen took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise both Boniface and the Super Eagles for their qualification, expressing their support with a congratulatory message. Nigeria's qualification remains intact, and they will face Rwanda next in their upcoming match.
