The inauguration took place in Akure, where he vowed to continue development projects and prioritize economic growth, security, and infrastructure.

Lucky Aiyedatiwa has officially taken office as the Governor of Ondo State, marking the beginning of his first full four-year tenure following the passing of his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, in 2023.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure on Monday, drawing a large crowd of political leaders, party supporters, and dignitaries. Aiyedatiwa, who contested and won the governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), took the oath of office at approximately 12:59 pm, shortly after his deputy, Olayide Adelami.

In his inaugural address, Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their trust and vowed to prioritize economic development, infrastructural expansion, and security. He assured residents that his administration would continue projects initiated under Akeredolu and introduce new policies aimed at improving the state's economy.

Ahead of the ceremony, the Ondo State government declared Monday a public holiday to allow residents to participate in the historic event. The governor also used the occasion to call for unity, urging citizens to work together for the progress of the state.

As Aiyedatiwa assumes full leadership, political analysts will be watching closely to see how he navigates governance, especially in delivering campaign promises and managing the state's resources effectively.
