Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has initiated a significant reshuffle within his administration's cabinet, redeploying two key commissioners in a move signaling a shift in political dynamics since assuming office.
Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), officially disclosed the developments in a statement released late Tuesday night, April 24.
Under the restructuring, Zacchaeus Adangor, previously serving as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Special Duties. Additionally, Isaac Kamalu, the former Commissioner for Finance, has been deployed to lead the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.
Danagogo emphasized that the redeployment directives come into immediate effect, with both commissioners instructed to facilitate a seamless transition by handing over all relevant documents to the respective permanent secretaries in their outgoing ministries.
The reshuffling is noteworthy as both Adangor and Kamalu are known loyalists of Nyesom Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers State and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Their resignations from their positions followed a period of political tension between Wike and Fubara, which escalated last year.
Their reinstatement later ensued following a peace accord brokered by President Bola Tinubu, aiming to ease the strained relations between the two political heavyweights.
The redeployments underscore the ongoing power struggle between Wike and Fubara for control of Rivers State's political landscape, reflecting the intricate dynamics shaping the state's governance and political trajectory.
