Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit TV show "Friends," was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, according to law enforcement sources. Authorities responded to his home around 4 p.m., where he was discovered unresponsive. The sources did not specify a cause of death, speaking on condition of anonymity as the investigation was ongoing. There was no indication of foul play, they added. A representative for Perry has not yet responded to media requests for comment.

The Los Angeles Police Department's robbery-homicide detectives are currently investigating his death, while the precise cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office at a later date.

Matthew Perry, born in 1969, was the son of actor John Bennett Perry and Suzanne Marie Langford. He began his career as a child actor with guest roles in shows like "Charles in Charge" and "Beverly Hills, 90210," as well as appearing alongside River Phoenix in the film "A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon" in the 1980s and early 1990s. However, his big breakthrough came when he was cast as Chandler Bing in "Friends," a widely popular sitcom that premiered in 1994, following the lives of six single New Yorkers as they navigated adulthood.
