Musiliu Akinsanya, known as MC OLUOMO, has been elected National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). His election came at the Union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference in Osogbo, where he emphasized unity and commitment to the Union’s goals. Tajudeen Agbede and Akeem Adeosun also secured key positions.

Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as ‘MC OLUOMO,’ has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). His election took place at the Union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference for Zone 2, held in Osogbo, Osun State, where his nomination was supported by the Ondo State Chairman and seconded by the Ekiti State Chairman.

The conference, attended by the Acting National President, Aliyu Ore, emphasized the importance of adhering to the Union’s constitution and highlighted the need for strategic direction to fulfill the vision of the Union’s founders. Akinsanya’s election marks a significant milestone for the NURTW, signaling a period of potential growth and transformation for the organization.

In his acceptance speech, Akinsanya urged Union members to set aside past conflicts and unite to achieve the Union's core objectives. He stressed that unity would be crucial to the Union's continued success and future development. Alongside Akinsanya, Tajudeen Agbede was elected Vice-President for the Southwest, while Akeem Adeosun emerged as the Union’s Trustee.

Akinsanya’s rise to leadership has stirred mixed reactions. Supporters view his election as a positive step for the NURTW, while critics point to his controversial past.
