President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bayo Bashir Ojulari as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). Ojulari, an accomplished mechanical engineer, brings over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. His appointment is part of a broader effort to restructure NNPCL and enhance its operational efficiency.

- Early Career: Began as the first Nigerian process engineer at Elf Aquitaine before joining Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in 1991.
- Leadership at Shell: Held various key roles in petroleum engineering, asset management, and strategic planning, eventually becoming Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) in 2015.
- Renaissance Africa Energy: Served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, leading the company in a $2.4 billion acquisition of Shell’s onshore assets in Nigeria.
- Industry Influence: A Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a Board of Trustees Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE Nigeria Council).
