Kaduna-based Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has shed light on his recent engagement with Nigerian security agents, following an invitation over security concerns. In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Sheikh Gumi reassured the public, emphasizing that there was no cause for alarm. Moreover, Sheikh Gumi has voiced objections to the Nigerian government's publication of names purportedly linked to terrorism financing.
During a conversation hosted by Daily Trust, Sheikh Gumi condemned what he termed "media trials," asserting that such pronouncements should be left to the courts. He questioned the authority of security agencies to label individuals as terrorist financiers, emphasizing the need for judicial due process.
