Iran has confirmed launching a drone attack on Israel, stating that it targeted specific objectives.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) issued a statement on Saturday night affirming the attack. Reports indicate that between 100 and 250 drones were involved, with an estimated travel time of several hours to reach Israel.
"We are tracking the threat in the airspace. It's a threat that will take a number of hours to arrive in Israel," stated military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari in a televised address.
Concerns over potential airspace violations prompted Jordan to pledge to intercept any drones that breach its territory. Meanwhile, Iranian Defense Minister issued a warning, stating that any nation facilitating Israeli attacks on Iran would face a robust response.
As tensions escalated, Israel took precautionary measures by closing schools and elevating its military readiness. Additionally, several international entities adjusted their operations in anticipation of Iranian attacks.
Qantas and Lufthansa rerouted flights in the Middle East, with the latter avoiding Iranian airspace until Tuesday. Canada issued a travel advisory, advising citizens to avoid Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. The Netherlands announced the temporary closure of its embassy in Tehran.
