In a significant operation, the air component of the northeast joint task operation Hadin Kai carried out airstrikes in Borno state, eliminating over 100 suspected members of the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) as they gathered in the forest at Bukar Mairam in Marte LGA.
These strikes were executed following intelligence indicating a large gathering of terrorists at this location, as reported by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focusing on the Lake Chad region. A military source stated that the strikes achieved devastating hits, preventing the terrorists from proceeding with their planned night attacks against Nigerian troops' positions. This successful operation demonstrates the government's commitment to counter-terrorism efforts in the region. Notably, just last week, the Nigerian Air Force conducted airstrikes that led to the elimination of over 100 bandits in Kebbi state.
