Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, asserts that despite public complaints, the cost of data in Nigeria remains one of the cheapest globally. Speaking on a live TV program on Arise, he emphasized the Ministry's commitment to enhancing the quality of services provided by telecommunications service providers. The Ministry aims to expand broadband coverage throughout the country, implementing the National Broadband Plan, which targets deploying 95,000 fiber cables and achieving 70% broadband penetration by 2025.
Tijani outlined the Ministry's four-pillar agenda, focusing on building a strong technology workforce, reimagining government policies, improving infrastructure, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
