Joy Mojisola Raimi, who previously held the title of Miss Osun, has emerged as the new Miss World Nigeria 2025. The prestigious event was hosted on Friday night at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, gathering 37 contestants from across the country.
The evening featured a dazzling showcase of talent, elegance, and cultural pride, as participants dazzled judges in traditional wear and sports attire. After several rounds, the competition was narrowed to 20 outstanding finalists, including strong contenders like Oluwatoyin Ibitoye (Miss Kogi), Shelly Usman (Miss Imo), and Mmesoma Anosike (Miss Adamawa).
In the final moments, Raimi stood out with her poise and inspiring personal story. Speaking on overcoming adversity, she shared her experiences growing up without a mother and enduring mistreatment from a caregiver, affirming her belief that destiny cannot be denied.
Guy Murray-Bruce, Chief Operating Officer of the Silverbird Group, officially announced Raimi as the winner, commending her confidence and strong advocacy voice.
As the newly crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025, Raimi will represent Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant scheduled to take place in Hyderabad, India, from May 7 to May 31. She will compete alongside delegates from around 140 countries.
The judging panel included notable figures like Frank Oshodi, Ada Chike Udozie, Pearl Eddie, Tobi Ayodele, Emmanuel Osita Okoli, and Anthony Abraham.
Former senator Shehu Sani humorously declined an invitation to join the judging panel, citing concerns about domestic approval.
