Nigerian comedian Bovi has sparked debate after sharing his thoughts on why many Nigerians relocate abroad. Speaking on a podcast, he argued that most Nigerians aren’t primarily seeking wealth but rather peace of mind—free from concerns like unstable electricity, insecurity, and poor governance.

Bovi stated that many citizens long for a country where law enforcement is reliable and their income aligns with their expenses, unlike Nigeria, where economic hardship and systemic issues persist. His remarks, however, were met with mixed reactions. Some Nigerians disagreed, pointing out that many billionaires have built their fortunes abroad despite Nigeria’s challenges. Others, particularly patriotic citizens, criticized him for his stance.

The comedian also revealed that his children no longer live in Nigeria due to what he described as the normalization of bullying within the country’s system. His statement has fueled conversations on social media, with many debating the reasons behind the increasing number of Nigerians seeking opportunities abroad.
