Pastor William Kumuyi, founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, delivered a heartfelt prayer at President Donald Trump’s Inaugural Prayer and Praise Convocation in Washington, D.C. The event, hosted by prominent evangelical leaders Jim Garlow and Tony Perkins, gathered faith leaders to pray for the nation and its incoming administration.

Kumuyi’s prayer emphasized holiness, unity, and revival within the church and sought divine guidance for President Trump. He prayed for wisdom, forthrightness, and meaningful collaboration between the church and government, calling for a renewed focus on righteousness and truth.

The convocation, held at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, was described as a deeply spiritual gathering dedicated solely to Christian worship. Pastor Garlow stated it was not an interfaith event but a time for Christian leaders to pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Kumuyi also met with U.S. legislators and church leaders, including Congressman Robert Pittinger, to discuss global evangelism initiatives. He shared his vision for spreading the Gospel, highlighting opportunities for collaboration to reach more people worldwide.

The event coincided with Nathaniel Bassey’s performance at the Inaugural Prayer Breakfast earlier that day, further solidifying the strong representation of Nigerian clergy in key moments of the inauguration.
