His Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, mentioned that this trip is part of Tinubu's annual leave, and he intends to return to Nigeria after it concludes.

This is Tinubu's first formal leave since taking office in May 2023, though he has made several foreign trips since then. The 1999 Constitution requires the president to inform the National Assembly of any vacation plans, but it is unclear if Tinubu has done so.
