President Bola Tinubu appoints Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media, alongside three new Directors-General for key agencies: Olawale Olopade for National Sports Commission, Abisoye Fagade for Hospitality and Tourism, and Adebowale Adedokun for Public Procurement. The appointments aim to boost strategic sectors.
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, as his Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media. This announcement was made on Thursday by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, and included three other key appointments: Olawale Olopade as Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Dr. Abisoye Fagade as Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, and Dr. Adebowale Adedokun as Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement.
Daniel Bwala, a lawyer and prominent public affairs analyst, previously served as a vocal critic of Tinubu while working as a key media representative for Atiku Abubakar during the last presidential election. His shift to Tinubu’s administration has sparked widespread public debate, with many Nigerians taking to social media to voice their reactions.
Numerous commenters criticized Bwala’s move, suggesting it as a “reward” for his departure from Atiku and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Some users questioned Bwala's credibility and expressed disappointment over what they perceived as opportunistic political maneuvering.
