Omowunmi, Mohbad's widow, accuses the late singer's father, Joseph Aloba, of delaying a DNA test to resolve the paternity dispute of her son, Liam. She claims Aloba rejected proposed medical facilities and misrepresented her willingness to cooperate. The case continues to unfold legally.
Omowunmi, the widow of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has accused his father, Joseph Aloba, of delaying a DNA test to resolve the paternity of her son, Liam. According to Omowunmi's legal team, Aloba rejected the proposed medical facilities and failed to respond to alternatives suggested by her.
The dispute follows an order from a Lagos Magistrates Court for both parties to agree on a testing facility. Omowunmi expressed frustration over the delays, asserting that her readiness for the test had been misrepresented in the media by Aloba’s counsel, Mr. Taiwo Odumosu. She denied any unwillingness to cooperate and demanded an apology for the false claims. Omowunmi also accused Aloba of publicly portraying her son as a "bastard."
In response, Aloba’s former legal team denied the misrepresentation and clarified that Odumosu had only mentioned the hospitals' lack of response, not Omowunmi’s reluctance to cooperate. They also announced their withdrawal from representing Aloba in the case. The situation continues to unfold in the courts, with both sides claiming to be acting in the best interest of resolving the paternity issue.
