Moses Simon’s stunning late goal secured a 1-0 win for Nantes against Stade Rennes. The Nigerian winger, who dribbled past defenders before curling in a perfect strike, reflects on scoring a similar goal previously and emphasizes the importance of the three points for his team’s success.

Moses Simon scored a stunning goal in the final minute to give Nantes a 1-0 victory over Stade Rennes on Sunday. The Nigerian winger, who received the ball on the left wing, dribbled past two defenders inside the box, cut to his right, and unleashed a superb curling shot into the far top corner.

In an interview with DAZN, Simon shared that the strike was not a completely new feat for him, having scored a similar goal against Lens during the 2022-2023 season. However, the timing of this goal, especially in the derby, made it feel special. "We needed the points, and we got them, so we are very happy," he stated.

The win was crucial for Nantes as they secured all three points, moving them to 13th in the Ligue 1 standings with 14 points from 14 matches. Simon's goal was his fourth of the season in the league, and his performance remains vital to the Canaries' success as the season progresses.
