Multichoice Nigeria appeals a Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal ruling imposing a N150 million fine and mandating a free monthly subscription. The tribunal's decision follows Multichoice's objection to jurisdiction.

Multichoice Nigeria has appealed the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal's decision to impose a N150 million fine and mandate a free monthly subscription. The tribunal, led by Thomas Okosu, issued the ruling after Multichoice contested the tribunal's jurisdiction and other legal aspects.

Sources familiar with the matter confirmed that Multichoice has formally filed a notice of appeal against the tribunal's judgment. The tribunal's directive included providing a one-month free subscription on DSTV and GOTV, following allegations that Multichoice had violated interim orders restraining price hikes on these platforms.

Nigerians are monitoring developments closely as the appeal process unfolds, anticipating further legal proceedings to clarify the issues raised by the tribunal's ruling.
