The Nigeria Police has launched an investigation into the tragic death of former Konga CEO, Nick Imudia, who reportedly died by suicide. Commissioner Adegoke Fayoade emphasized the need to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident, as family, friends, and associates remain in shock.

The Nigeria Police have committed to investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Nick Imudia, former CEO of Konga, one of Nigeria’s leading e-commerce platforms. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, announced this during the 2024 Chartered Pension Institute of Nigeria (CPIN) investiture in Maryland, Lagos. Imudia reportedly died by suicide, jumping from the balcony of his Lekki apartment on June 25, 2024.

Before his death, he contacted his brother in the United States, providing instructions on the distribution of his wealth, and also spoke to his young daughter, assuring her of his perpetual presence. The incident has left friends, family, and colleagues in shock, with many questioning the reasons behind his tragic decision.

Commissioner Fayoade emphasized the need to uncover the factors leading to Imudia’s death to provide clarity and possibly prevent similar occurrences.

The police have recovered Imudia's mobile phone and other personal items to aid in their investigation. This tragic event highlights the importance of mental health awareness and the need for support systems for individuals in distress. The investigation aims to provide answers and support to those affected by Imudia's untimely death.
