The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has pledged to take disciplinary action against officers involved in the invasion of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) following a dispute over power disconnection at the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Lagos.

On Thursday, NAF personnel reportedly stormed IKEDC’s headquarters, damaging property and assaulting staff members. According to IKEDC spokesperson Kingsley Okotie, several employees sustained injuries, and company assets were either vandalized or taken away during the raid.

Addressing the media, Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Logistics Command, Adeniran Ademuwagun, condemned the incident, assuring that those responsible would face appropriate sanctions. He emphasized that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to professionalism and would not tolerate actions that compromise its integrity.

“We take the safety of citizens seriously, and Ikeja Electric should operate without fear of intimidation,” Ademuwagun stated. He extended an apology to IKEDC’s management, describing the invasion as regrettable.

IKEDC Chairman Kola Adesina confirmed that around 200 employees were present during the attack, with at least 10 sustaining injuries. He described the event as a major disruption but expressed confidence in NAF’s commitment to justice.

Ademuwagun reiterated that discussions between NAF and IKEDC had been constructive, stressing that military personnel must uphold discipline and operate within the law. He assured that measures were being put in place to prevent such incidents in the future.
