EFCC's Gombe State Zonal Command arrests Janty Emmanuel for alleged Nigerian currency abuse, caught spraying Naira notes at a social event. Emmanuel admits guilt, faces court charges pending investigations.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) made headlines again as they swiftly acted on reports of currency abuse at a social event in Gombe State. Janty Emmanuel was caught on camera extravagantly spraying N1,000 notes at G-Connect in Tumfure.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed Emmanuel's arrest, stressing the severity of such actions under the CBN Act. Emmanuel admitted her wrongdoing during interrogation, attributing it to a moment of recklessness.

The EFCC reiterated its commitment to combatting currency abuse, emphasizing the importance of upholding the Naira's value. Emmanuel awaits trial, facing potential fines or imprisonment if found guilty.

This incident echoes a recent case involving celebrity crossdresser Bobrisky, highlighting the EFCC's zero-tolerance stance on financial misconduct.
