Kano politician Naja’atu Mohammed challenges NSA Nuhu Ribadu to take her to court after he denied calling Tinubu corrupt during his EFCC tenure. Mohammed insists she only repeated Ribadu’s past words and refuses to apologize, fueling political controversy. The dispute raises questions about Ribadu’s stance on corruption.

Prominent Kano-based politician, Naja’atu Mohammed, has dared National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu to take legal action against her after he denied ever calling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu corrupt during his tenure as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ribadu, through his lawyer Dr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), had issued a seven-day ultimatum for Mohammed to retract her statements and issue a public apology over a viral TikTok video. In the video, Mohammed alleged that Ribadu had once described Tinubu as one of the most corrupt politicians in Nigeria, yet now serves in his administration. Ribadu denied making such claims and labeled the video defamatory.

In response, Mohammed dismissed the ultimatum, insisting she had merely echoed Ribadu’s past words. “I have nothing to apologize for. Let him take me to the highest court in Nigeria. I stand by what I said,” she declared in a media interview.

She further asserted that the alleged comments attributed to Ribadu could still be found online and urged Nigerians to verify them. Mohammed accused Ribadu of aligning himself with Tinubu for political survival and challenged him to clarify whether he had retracted his alleged past remarks.

Maintaining her stance, she reiterated that past statements on corruption should not be ignored. “Has anything changed since then? If he never lied, why is he afraid now?” she questioned.

The dispute has sparked heated political debate, with many awaiting Ribadu’s next move.
